How It's Done
After playing for a while, usually a month or so, your character can get a power upgrade. It works similar to a new character approval, only in this case you're upgrading your character. Any changes should be made in bold or another color to be distinguished from the old powers. In many cases, you don't need to send in your background again, but if you're updating it, you should send that part in. Just submit your character sheet with the upgrades made in bold, and any explanation or detail that goes with them.
Be prepared to answer questions. This includes the how and why your character gets these updates and if it's a secondary mutation, a mutation where the powers are not related to the primary abilities, you should be prepared to answer the how and why behind it. After all, a man who can transform into steel suddenly gaining the ability to be feather-light and fly just doesn't mesh well without good reason.
You should wait a bit before doing a power upgrade. Get a lot of play-time in and have your character go through trial and error, improvement and change. Upgrades come through story and sometimes, the story may very well lead to the upgrade and the OPs will take that into account and can even give more then you're expecting.
Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
