Personality Profile: A very warm and caring nature, she appears to be the typical girl next door, always there for a friend in need. She can be quite the nurturing figure to the younger mutants, always being motherly which is the reason why she took up teaching. Though she only teaches Home Economics, she is doing the kids a great service by ensuring they will manage basic living on their own for when it is time for them to leave the care of the School.
Physical Description: Forest green eyes stand out from inky black lashes, lushes locks of chocolate brown hair cascades down her back, tickling her soft olive skin as it sways gently against the exposed flesh. A lithe woman with slender sculptured muscles, moving gracefully beneath her skin as she moves. A plain dark brown singlet is snugly worn against her upper body, hugging firmly to her ample chest. Dark blue skinny leg jeans displays her feminine form and curves whilst dark chocolate brown boots clad firmly against her calf muscles. A simple cream scarf is wrapped around her slender neck; the ends just stopping past her knees, large gold hooped earrings bring out the natural copper high lights in her hair.
Mutation/Powers:
Belle is able to lower her external and internal body temperature without harm to herself, thereby radiating intense cold from her body. She is able to reach -105 degrees Fahrenheit within a few seconds, and is immune to sub-zero temperatures around her. She is able to change her form into solid ice and back into human form at will.
Belle is also able to create ice from moisture in the air, enabling her to form slides, walls/shields and shards.
Flaws:
She risks a chance of being chipped when in solid ice form, and when transformed back to human, they would appear as mere bruises, and cuts would be only scratches. Heat is also her enemy, she has to use her powers even more to try and cool warm moisture (even steam), exhausting her even more, summer is not her favoured season. No moisture in the air = she is screwed.
Background/History: She was born in Australia, a place known as the Red Centre, where the earth is red; the rocks are red, and even at night the sky’s feel the need to wear the crimson colour too. Her parents had come from overseas, settled down in Australia and had two children, Michael and Belle. They lived a pretty simply life, no city, no neighbours for miles, and a rural property that stretched beyond the red sky. Belle though, craved adventure, she wanted to see things she had only read about in books, seen on TV or heard of on the radio. Both parents did not hold her back, in fact they gave her some money to help her out, arranged for relatives to allow her to stay in their homes, as they were the ones that gave her itchy feet, her Mother from Mauritius and her Father from England, both jet setting adventurers. It had been the environment Belle was raised it that had hidden her evolved abilities, the hot red dessert had sucked the moisture from the air and the air had desperately tried to quench its thirst, cracking the river beds surface as it soaked in ever last drop of water. She finally jetted over to England at the age of 21, taking up a course in college to become a Junior School Teacher. Surrounded by bad weather and moisture most of the year round she had started noticing strange occurrences, frost upon her breath when no one else did, warm drinks became cold in his hand, and one time the water that fell from the shower head ended up being small shards of ice, filling the bath tub she stood in with tear shaped ice crystals. A couple of years had passed and she thought she had managed to keep her little secret just that, but those who she studied with noticed small things too. She soon found herself ostracised from social groups, other students cast dark looks upon her. It was when the Head Master of the college contacted her Uncle of whom she had been living with, that all things changed. Her parents were contacted in a desperate attempt to have her removed from the College she studied at and the Village she had made her home, now they wanted to send her back to her red dessert prison, to be hidden from the world in shame. In desperation she started searching online for an answer, someone who had answers, then one day an email appeared in her inbox, it was just an address, nothing more, and it was in America. She figured she had nothing much too loose now, either hide from the world, or seek out that adventure she had hoped for. In the dead of night her bags were packed and she took a taxi to Manchester Airport and headed now for New York. The address led her to where she would find a place she eventually called ‘home’ it was a school for the gifted, for those who possessed the x-gene. She found a nice quiet job in City, working at a child care centre both during the day and after hours to have enough money to support her so she was able to attend the School for the Gifted where she regularly received training to help harness her powers. Finally when she was 25 she graduated college and receiving her degree in education. She was offered a position teaching now at the same place that had offered her guidance and protection; she could not think of a more fitting way of repaying back those who had saved her from desolation. She is now 26 and still teaching at the school.
