Player nick: Jarrod`
Name: Andrew James Knight
Codename: Carnate
Status: Other
DoB/Age: Date of birth or Age
Height: Variable (Currently 6'2")
Weight: Variable (Currently 185 lbs)
Powers: Carnate has two separate powers that are intertwined.
1) Reincarnation. If Carnate is killed, his body will reform (taking time depending on the amount of damage that's done, etc). When it does so, all physical characteristics potentially change. His facial features are never identical, and often he will change skin tone, hair colour, eye colour, height, and weight.
2) Variable. Every time Carnate comes back to life, this second power changes. Usually the new power is one which could have prevented his previous death (sometimes in very strange ways). Currently it is - The ability to redirect kinetic energy. If something has mass, and velocity, he can alter the kinetic energy involved to change the direction of that velocity up to ninety degrees but no further. He also is limited by how fast an object is moving, as well as how heavy. A car is more difficult to deflect than a punch. A bullet more difficult than a baseball. He can deflect bullets, but only able to change their direction by about twenty five degrees. He has a range of about one hundred feet with this ability.
Weakness: Constantly dying and coming back to life has taken its toll on Carnate's mental state - the exact effects have not been determined by anyone with sociological training.
Special Skills: Because Carnate retains from body to body everything he knows, or knew, and his baseline intelligence, he has put himself through extensive training so he can remain an effective hero no matter what body he ends up in, or what powers he ends up with. He is trained in martial arts, including techniques that require a lot of force on his part, and ones designed to turn the strength of the attacker against them, and also weapons training. Further, he's a decent mechanic, studied sciences (mostly self-study), hang gliding, parachuting, stunt driving (anything thrill seeking and inherantly dangerous). He's taken up marksmanship to improve his aim, though he doesn't use guns for anything but practice.
Background/History: Andrew James Knight was born to rich parents. Very rich parents, in fact. While not on the level of Tony Stark, for example, his family did hold the controlling shares of Knight Incorporated, a very sucessful corporation dealing mainly in useful technological gadgetry (innovative kitchen appliances, vehicle accessories, toys, and the like). Until he was fifteen, his life was that of a normal rich boy, but that changed.
He was at school, playing basketball in a residential area - he went to a public school because it was important, his parents felt, to stay in touch with those of lesser means. A five year old girl ran out into the middle of the road for a ball, from her yard, and a semi that was coming down the road didn't have time to stop. Andrew ran for the kid without thinking, threw her off the road, and was hammered by the truck himself. He died. He was taken to the coroner, embalmed, and had a closed casket wake. When he burst out of the casket -during- the wake, looking like a completely different person, there was complete panic and terror.
Eventually, though, since he was insistant about who he was, they took him for testing, and discovered that it was indeed Andrew, and that he was a mutant. After that, life was a little different - though his parents were very supportive.
Andrew became a thrill seeker, and lept into situations to play hero whenever they popped up, without a care for himself. Thus, his parents were forced to live through death, after death, new body after new body, and eventually they couldn't take it anymore.
His mother was crying as they told him that he needed to leave. They still loved him, and they would still support him, but they could not live with him, could not watch him die, see him change again, and again, and again. It was killing them. He understood, and he left.
He continued his thrill-seeking lifestyle, using his money to learn things others wouldn't have access to. Learn things that would help him in his new life. Blaming himself whenever someone else died in his stead, working ever harder to keep that from ever happening again.
It was in Illinois, Chicago, that he met up with Jade. She was being mugged in an alley, and he had no clue she could handle herself. He jumped the guy, took a bullet meant for her (as well as a knife meant for him), and died. She saw him come back to life, and convinced him to take her back to the Xavier's School for the Gifted.
Appearance: Currently greek ethnicity, long dark hair, grey eyes. He's always fit-looking, and usually wears very nice, even designer clothing.
