Do NOT play before approval or we won't grant it. Ever. We're hard-asses like that.
Players are to fill out their character sheet using the template in the character application section. Players should NOT post them in the approved section. After that, you should inform an OP that it is on the website and you will be asked to enter the OP channel for questioning about the character and their limits if we aren't busy and there are two on at the time. And please, only post one char to the board at a time and, once approved, actually play them a few times before getting another one. Please, if you see two OPs on, ask if we can do an approval. Sometimes, we do not see that you are on and need a helpful (polite) reminder.
You may play ONLY after two OPs have approved your character. OP decisions are to be respected.
It is advisable not to come to the OPs until you have looked over the board to see what powers are popular/taken and a sheet is written up. If you want a set of powers, why not try for them? Vixen, especcially, is adverse to coaching a player through the making-a-character process and is likely to decline a character upon principle.
Basically, do your best and we will try to work with you on it. It's rare that we say no entirely, so no worries. But, please, be open to suggestion? If you come into the chan knowing that you will not change your character, then it is highly frustrating for us. And, as we all know, a frustrated OP is not a happy OP.
And, as a final note, originality on your part will give you a better character. Stronger powers do not an interesting character make. OPs are generally impressed by original details about a power set, even if it's been done before.
Hear that? Originality. That means that if you don't bother to look at the character powers on the site and pick the exact same power, we're not going to approve it. Put in something a little different and we'll be golden. For instance, if you want shadow powers, but it's been done - change it up a little and make it interesting. We drool over that.
These are the wise words of Kelli/Vixen and Jim, creators of #Xaviers_School, the room that inspired this one when it dropped about two years ago. These rules worked back then and I have confidence in them now. They may be modified as need be.
