Player nick: ^Casey^
Name: Bishop Rodriguez
Codename: Aeon
Status: Student
DoB/Age: November 18, 1993 / going on 16
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 150 lbs
Relatives: Elaine (Mother), Hector (Father- deceased), Addison/Addi Beaumont (older half-brother), Coriander/Cory (younger brother), Lysandra/Lysa (younger sister), Rochelle/Roxy (baby half-sister), Raymond Chartraine (step-father)
Mutants in Family: Elaine (clairvoyance/prophetic visions), Hector (pyrokinesis), Addi (super speed/durabiity), Raymond (telepathic), Roxy (physical mutations)
Powers:
Immortality- When his powers activated, Bishop's body appeared to just.. stop. His heart does not beat in a fashion normal doctors can recognize. He lacks a pulse. He doesn't eat or sleep that anyone knows of. Physical violence seems to be the only method to kill him, but nobody's tested that theory.
"Time Stepping"- An effect of his relationship with the time flow, Bishop is able to step in and out of the time flow, granting him effective teleportation to anywhere within, currently, 200 yards that he can see.
"Read the Threads"- While Bishop can by no means read the future, he can "see" the timelines of those around him. Their story or timeline is singular going into the past, but the future has an infinite amount of possible branches. For some reason intelligible views of future timelines are inaccessable for him at the moment. This is not to say he recieves prophetic visions as his moher, but appearance glimpses that hint at life meaning. He may see a man as the healthy baby he was, the teen with braces, his current self, and a multitude of possible future appearances sequentially or all at once. Details are beyon him, he can only guess at them by the appearances of th person he sees.
Weakness:
Temporal Vision Impairment- Morgan doesn't see like everyone else. Since the 'birth' of his powers, he's never been entirely part of the time stream. As such he is constantly distracted by hazy memories of past, present, and future of everyone and everything around him. He may see a person next to him as an 87 year old man or a baby rather than the 14 year old he currently is only to be knocked back into the present without warning. This is the biggest reason Elaine and Hector sent him to the school.
Temporal Stress- As a being "Outside time" it strains Bishop to interact with the mortal world. When others go to sleep, he steps out of time and doesn't step back in for hours, effectively gone from the world. If he were somehow forced to remain in the timestream, it could prove perilous to his health.
ADD- Even mutants have normal human problems, and for Morgan it's ADD. It doesn't help that his brain is thinking on an infinite number of 'presents' from the beginning of time to the end. He's prescribed Adderoll, but it doesn't help the last pill he took the day his powers activated is still sitting in his stomach, untouched by a digestive system frozen in time.
Special Skills: Athleticism has always been an important part of Bishop's life. As a child at Hillside Scool in Marlborough, MA, he was an active player of ice hockey during the winter and lacrosse in the spring. During his highschool years at the Cambridge School of Weston he played basketball, and privately he played polo as well as horse racing.
Background/History:
Bishop Renee Rodriguez is the oldest son of Elaine Beaumont-Rodriguez-Chartraine and Hector Rodriguez. He has one older brother, Addison Beaumont, who is a Mutant Rights Activist in Manhattan and the only childe of Elaine's first marriage. His parents had twins, Coriander and Lysandra, four years after his birth, and his mother had a child by her new husband who is now two. Her name is Rochelle Chartraine, daughter of Raymond Chartraine.
Bishop was a very lucky lad as far as being a mutant goes. The X gene, according to his mother, is like the family heirloom. She dates mutants in the family back to the London Warrington family on her side in the 1600s and to 1899 on his father's side of the family. Bishop's grandfather Archibald Warrington was the head of the Boston Chapter of the Hellfire Club until he passed on in 2002. His step-father now holds that chair as his mother disdains the limelight.
Bishop led a fairly normal life as a child. The Warrington Family traditionally keeps their mutation secret from their children until their own powers manifest or they are adults. His mother worked at his grandfathr's law firm. His father was a career Investor. He was home schooled by the family tutor until he reached the age of a fifth grader. When he was old enough, he was sent to attend the Hillside Shool in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The boarding school had special programs for children with ADD/ADHD such as Bishop and his older brother Addison who had attended as well.
On the weekends Addison and Bishop would take their father's jet home. While Addison spent the weekend at parties, Bishop most often spent it with his mother or playing polo with childhood friends. His father never understood the boy's obsession with shopping, but he never took away his allowance either.
After graduating the last year, ninth grade, at Hillside, Bishop returned home to his picture perfect family. During his enrollment to the private high school the Cambridge School of Weston in nearby Cambridge, Massachusetts, tragedy struck Bishop and his family. His father, Hector Rodriguez, was killed in a freak car accident. It was a difficult time for Bishop but Raymond, another partner as his grandfather's firm, comforted the family and eventually joined it.
The year he started at Cambridge School, his half-brother Addison moved to New York to both attend NYU Law as well as join the Mutant Activist community there. He was a quiet student very smart and very popular with the staff. He wasn't the socialite that his brother was, but he had a few close friends. He met his first girlfriend at the end of his sophomore year, Allison Perry. The relationship ended when she transferred to Boston Public and he continued at Cambridge School.
Life truly changed for Bishop in the middle of his junior year at Cambridge School. It all happened during his ice hockey game against his school's biggest rival. It was the final game before going to state, and his entire family was gathered there. With three seconds left to score, he had the puck midway across the field with the entire opposing team between him and the goal. All he claims to remember is that one second he was there and the next he was two feet from the goal, scoring. In reality, time hadn't moved from the three second mark.
His family was up in an instant, knowing Bishop had just joined their ranks. Before the could reach him though, he was knocked unconcious by the panicked goalee. Doctors on the scene thought he'd died because his heart didn't appear to be beating. Rather than take him to a hospital, the family took him home. The next three weeks were a groggy mess for Bishop. It was rather overwhelming learning the true family history as well as trying to get used to new powers.
With his "awakening", as his family called it, being so public it was impossible for Bishop to return to school amongst their normal colleages' children. Elaine knew of just the place to send her son, a place old Hellfire friends such as Betsy Braddock and Warren Worthington the Third, once attended. She and Raymond decided Xavier's would be the perfect place. The deal was sealed when Addison agreed to let Bishop live with him part time.
Notes:
- Bishop and Addison are hereditary members of the Hellfire Club. Addison is a full member of the New York chapter and Bishop attends weekend juniors meetings with othe children his age.
- Bishop's grandfather was not only the head of Boston's chapter of the Hellfire Club but also secretly the notorious mutant crime lord Shadowstryke. He was assassinated by government agents in 2002.
- Bishop's mother is known in her circles as the Black Widow. She keeps tabs on club members to be sure they're being 100% loyal. Her last two husbands didn't make the cut...
- Addison knows more of the family's dark secrets than Bishop, which is why he tried to distance himself by moving to Manhattan.
- Bishop's horse back in Boston is named Ebony.
- Bishop's trust fund from his father's estate has a net worth of 4.3 million dollars which he recieved monthly allowances from while the majority is re-invested. The death of his grandfather brought him nearly 6.2 million dollars, most of which is currently tied up for government investigation into his grandfather post-mortem. He still had a summer job at Burger King, and he used the money to buy his video games.
